Window Phone Application

C# - Applications

This module was brilliant, and again the system for accessing map and geological data seems straight forwards, because it is all built into the UI for the app creation process. I hope to continue following tutorials and re-reading my module notes; as this was a great 2nd year module - that again gave me some experience with C#, and its features. I can see why Microsoft uses C#, as it is a fast and dynamic language to use; however, I do feel something heavy seems to be running on Windows systems, that slows the system down, after say a near a year of use - unlike Android and iOS systems, that keep feeling fast and responsive. When Microfsoft, sorts this out and pushes more tutorials for app creation, I believe Windows Universal Apps will really present a challenge to an iOS and Android saturated Market; although I do feel Android and iOS' success may also be due to some kind of favoritism that came about because of Microsoft ignoring its stakeholders opinions, and Apple and Google, not being restricted by past enterprise.

Again this module was based on a test of knowledge; and the apps created were those found in the tutorials by the brilliant Bob Tabor or demonstrations in class! Again I recommend his tutorials to anyone interested in C#, even if they are not interested in Windows platform because Bob demonstrates features that are not even considered in books the novice programming should try to get to grasps with asap; particularly 'Async' functions.

Rather than add an app, I think it is best to advised reader to check out Bob tutorials!

I would also take the time to give thanks to Leonid Smalov ( I think I got his last name right)...a true Windows man and good lecturer.
